Belle Epoque
Bern, Switzerland |
Bern, Switzerland made me fall in love with Switzerland
and the Belle Epoque, which is a boutique hotel made me fall
in love with the people. Located in the old part of town
on the main street the Belle Epoque oozes charm. It is a
family run establishment and the mother and daughter that
own it make you feel instantly at home. The hotel is small,
but each room is unique and has all of the personal touches
you would expect in a boutique hotel. Fresh fruit was set
out in our room upon arrival and a jar full of candy was
a very welcome touch. The main street does not allow cars/parking
in the evenings so many people walk the boardwalks and the
streets in the evening. The old fashioned basements that
look like the old farm house storm celler from the outside
have, in many cases been made into establishments such as
art stores,
small boutiques, clubs and entertainment spots that have
plays and fashion shows. The picture with the flowers below
is the view from our lovely room. The small bed in the next
picture is usually not there, but was added because we had
our daughter with us. We slept with the windows wide open
snuggled under down filled duvets and soft feather pillows.
It was like sleeping in heaven and waking up to a view like
we had made us believe we were still in heaven. Looking back
on our stay at the Belle Epoque, our entire stay was simply
perfect.

BELLE
EPOQUE, BERN SWITZERLAND BATHROOM |
|
Our bathroom at the Belle Epoque boutique
hotel was not very large however it was not cramped and
was spotless. The single sink had a few amenities offered
on it, face cloths, and a large mirror. My husband and
I managed to use the mirror at the same time although one
had to stand back a bit in order to fit.
|
|
The double flush toilet had plenty of
tissue which is a must for us when we travel as we always
seem to run out at some hotels. The plumbing worked very
well and the rack warmer did a wonder job warming our towelsand
even dried a couple pairs of socks.
|
|
The bathtub was average sized and included
a hand held shower head which is something I always enjoy
seeing in a hotel. The water flow was just fine and there
was no shortage of hot water.
|
|
Our shower included liquid body wash
which I prefer over bar soap and it had a nice scent and
did not leave any sticky soapy feeling behind. The tiles
in the shower sparkled they were so clean and everything
in the bathroom appeared to be recently updated.

A little alcove in the bathroom stores
some ammenities that are not free but available to purchase.
When you use the products, the amount of the items is added
to your room bill. They are clearly mark and I actually
purchased some of them to give them a try and was pleased
with the quality of the items.

This is a closer lookk at the ammenities
the Belle Epoque in Bern Switzerland offers for their guests.
They are replenished daily.
