Hotel Sacher
Salzburg, Austria |
We were looking forward to staying at the Hotel Sacher in
Salzburg, Austria because it is a 5 star hotel that had a
reputation for excellence and old world charm. We certainly
were not disappointed. From the moment we stepped into the
Hotel Sacher we were treated like Royalty. The entire hotel
has old world touches that have been lovingly cared for over
the years and you walk about its many grand staircases and
think about all of the important people that have walked
these same steps to their wonderfully appointed rooms. Our
suite was simply lovely. As you walked through the door into
the foyer of the room there was a large chest and a stool
that you could sit on, or place a piece of luggage on. The
bathroom was off of this hall. At the end of the hall was
the large bedroom. It contained 2 double beds, and a third
bed could be placed under the window. There was a lounging
couch, and a sitting area. It also had a desk, bar area and
a huge walk in closet with a large amount of shelves to put
your clothing and there was plenty of room to put at least
2 large suitcases in it. The room even had a chandalier.
In the bottom right picture below you can get an idea of
the layout. The view is from the foyer looking into the bedroom
area. The door you see led out to a lovely balcony with a
table and two chairs (pictured below) with boxes full of
flowers and an amazing view of the water and the shops and
streets on the other side of the water.

While the fixtures might look ordinary,
the bathroom itself looks anything but ordinary. it has
a simple, elegant feel to the room. Little touches such
as high end amenities and a stool to sit on give it that
boost from ordinary to extraordinary. |
|
We loved the towel bars next to the sink,
and the glass shelf above the pedestal sink allowed for some
extra room to put your grooming supplies. I also enjoy the
magnifying mirrors provided by some hotels. |
|
This view of the shower area shows that
the towels provided by the hotel were large and thick. As
well, all walls and floors of the entire bathroom are tiled
including the shower area shown here. |
|
The shower/tub area has a shower with
extended cord and glass shower doors. The flow was more than
adequet and everything was spotless.. |
|
The amenities were simply wonderful. The
sizes of them were very generous and it contained a large assortment
of things such as shampoo, body lotion, soap, nail files etc. |
