The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
Jasper, Alberta, Canada |
The
Candian Rockies happen to be one of my most favorite places on
earth.I am sure part of it has to do with the fact that I live
in an area that is flat as a pancake, and the scenery is less
than lackluster, but for now it is home.. Whenver we
get the chance though, we head off to the Rockies to breathe
in the fresh unpoluted air, and just look at the scenery and
marvel at nature. Surprisingly enough, you will find some amazing
hotels in small towns tucked in the mountains and the
Jasper Park Lodge owned by The Fairmont chain is one such diamond
amongst the beauty
When
you are at the resort, it is hard to imagine there is anything
out there but you and the other guests, but don't worry,
activities abound and it has a number one rated golf course
right on property, horse back riding, lakes, canoes, fishing,
you name it. You will also find wildlife walking around
the resort, and you can literally look out the window of
your room to see an Elk munching on a bush under your window.
Accomadations are in long log units or in smaller log cabins.
You
could consider the accomodations rustic, but this fits in
perfectly with your location. Our first stay at the lodge
we were in the longer log units and our bathroom was very
clean, but unremarkable. On our second visit we stayed in
a small log cabin that didn't have much room to move around
but had an extremely large bathroom with jacuzzi tub that
was a pleasant and more welcome surprised.

JASPER PARK LODGE BATHROOMS |
|
The
main lodge, which has no guest rooms is spacious and
large. On the lower level they have restaraunts and
shops and some lovely unexpectd washrooms which makes
you remember that you are staying somewhere special
(After all the Queen of England has stayed here). This
is a picture of the ladies washroom in the lower shopping
promenade. It was completely empty when I went in (I
love having a spacious washroom all to myself) This
washroom smelled pleasant and was completely spotless
and the floral arrangement in the washroom gave it
a touch of class. |

I
think this is one of the first pictures of a mens's bathroom
that I finally managed to convince my husband to take.
I felt that it was important to show you both the male
and female bathrooms to see if there were any significant
differences in style. For all I knew, they had the guys
going in an old horse trough out doors, but luckily I
was proved wrong and as you can see, the style of the
bathrooms are almost exactly the same. I was actually
surprised they had a full lenght mirror in their washroom,
and as we travel more I am anxious to see how many other
mens rooms offer this featurel. |

Fairmonts
Jasper Park Lodge bathrooms had these gorgeous heavy
wooden doors that appear to have been there since the
lodge was rebuilt. You won't find metal doors that don't
close and have graffiti on them telling you who you can
call for a good time. Jasper Park Lodge is all about
beauty in the wilderness and that extends to their washrooms
where every detail is attended to. These washrooms are
spacicious, completely spotless and not over run with
long lines of people waiting for a stall in a hotel with
two few bathrooms. We give the Jasper Park Lodge, it's
washrooms and it's resorts as a whole a high rating and
encourage everyone to take some time to explore a bit
of Canada. |
