Lake City Casino
Kelowna, Britsh Columbia |
The Lake City Casino is located on Water St. Kelowna, BC and adjoins the north end of The Delta Grand Okanagan Resort and Conference Centre on the shores of Lake Okanagan. Expansion is underway as you can see if you look at the right side of the pic. The casino is a hot spot for both tourists and locals alike and carries a comfy-cosy sort of feel in a dimly-lit atmosphere. Upon entering the mens bathroom I was gobsmacked and awestruck standing amongst a cavalcade of gleam and color.
The bathroom has a ships quarters look to it with mirrored portholes on the toilet stalls and the same look on the mirrors. I was alos impressed with the way the room and fixtures glistened leaving me to believe that the cleaning staff were very thorough and meticulous. I was on an urgent mission upon entering this bright, colorful bathroom but I soon found myself gazing about wide-eyed and having thoughts of candy and Disney cartoons. I was also told by female patrons that the women's washroom had the same look as the mens so that only doubles my stellar recommendation of this establishments restrooms Mission accomplished, not only with pleasant relief but what an eye-opening surprise.

Upon entering the bathroom in this picture the first thing I noticed was the four round wood-framed mirrors hung on gleamng white tiles over four pristinely white sinks. The mirrors also have a ships rope black-pinned in the middle of the wood frame giving them a nautical look. The wood is a vibrant light-brown and the mirror on the right is lowered for wheelchair or handi-cap vehicle use.
The top half of the mirrored wall has glistening white tiles running down into vivid red tiles that meet a light-brown wood counter that matches the mirror frames. Black tiles run down the wall to a yellow and black checkered floor making one look at the wall quite a visually stimulating experience. Two shiny black soap dsipensers adorn the white wall and a black towel dispenser is perched on the left wall facing the sinks. The chrome fawcets gleam giving the entire setup a most opulent feel.

Notice the beautiful, vibrant-looking red stall doors that also have the portholes on them. The studs on the portholes stand out against the light grain of the wood giving a slightly different look from the mirrors. Having the ships galley look I started to think of the poor souls that may have lost their perverbial shirts gambling : it might feel like being on a sinking ship, A ship of fools if you will, or what if one is in the midst of an unreal hot streak, raking it in at the tables and at the slots : it might feel like being on a luxury liner sailing away to a south-sea haven or even to The Caribbean
The two-toned blue hand dryer was also a nifty touch helping to elevate this bathroom into the farthest reaches of my imagination. I'd love to have a washroom like this in my home, I don't see how anyone could ever feel glum or down with so much gleam and color around them. Quite the eye-opener, definately a bathroom to lift the spirits making your mission a sweet one.

What a pleasure to enter another section of the casino mensroom that has even more color to offer it's patrons. The flooring is now a red and blue check with the same white, red and black tiles on the wall. The only difference is the shiny copper wall slats inset above the four urinals aptly perched at an inviting height for this sailor : I could have used a pair of shades to help thwart the white gleam coming from these four extremely clean urinals
